Day 1 – Departure from the UK.

Day 2 – Arrival in Buenos Aires and transfer to hotel of your choice for a two-night stay. At leisure to explore Buenos Aires or to enjoy an optional tour.

Day 3 – A morning tour will take you through the city’s wide elegant avenues and past some the main attractions, such as the Colon Opera House and the Casa Rosada, the pink Presidential Palace that was the site for Eva Peron’s impassioned speeches to ‘her’ people. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure to further explore the city or to sample the stores in and around Florida Street. (B)

Day 4 – Transfer to the domestic airport for flight to Iguassu and transfer to hotel. At leisure to enjoy your first contact with the Falls. (B)

Day 5 – After breakfast you will be collected from the hotel for a morning visit to the falls on the Argentine side of the Iguassu National Park. Walk the paths that lead along the lush tropical basin of the Devil’s Gorge and over and under the splashing torrents of falling water. Beautiful flowers, ferns, tropical plants, butterflies and exotic birds add to the experience. Afternoon tour of the equally spectacular Brazilian side of the falls. (B)

Day 6 – Transfer to the airport for return flight to Buenos Aires. Dinner will be at a traditional restaurant to sample a delicious ‘asado‘ (barbecue) and Argentine wines. Following dinner, a visit to one of the city’s top Tango shows, without which no trip to Argentina would be complete. (B, D)

Day 7 – Full-day tour to the Argentine Pampas, one of the world’s most fertile prairies and land of the Gauchos. Opportunity to learn about their traditional dances, songs and horse riding skills. Enjoy true Gaucho hospitality with ‘empanadas’, ‘asado’ and excellent wines. (B, L)

Day 8 –
Day at leisure. Perhaps an optional full-day excursion to the northern suburbs of Buenos Aires driving through to Tigre with its gracious homes, weeping willows, open air restaurants and cafes. Refreshments will be served on board but lunch can be included on the islands. Another alternative is to cross the River Plate by hydrofoil to Uruguay and visit historic Colonia and Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay and one of South America’s most overlooked and underestimated capitals.
