Day 1 – Evening departure from the UK.

Day 2 – Arrival in Buenos Aires and transfer to your hotel for a two-night stay. An afternoon tour will take you through the city’s wide elegant avenues and past attractions that include the artists’ quarter of La Boca, the Colon Opera House, the Recoletta and the Palermo parks, and the Casa Rosada, the pink Presidential Palace that was the site for Eva Peron’s impassioned speeches to ‘her’ people.

Day 3 – At leisure to explore Buenos Aires or enjoy an optional excursion. This evening, dinner will be at a traditional restaurant to sample a delicious ‘asado’ (barbecue) and Argentine wines. Following dinner, a visit to one of the city’s top Tango shows, without which no trip to Argentina would be complete. (B, D)

Day 4 – Transfer to the airport for morning flight to Trelew. Excursion to Punta Tombo, the nesting ground for the largest collection of Magellanic Penguins outside of the Antarctic. Late afternoon transfer to your hotel for a two-night stay. (B)

Day 5 – Full-day tour to the nature reserve of Valdes Peninsula with its rich variety of wildlife that includes large, grunting elephant seals and playful sea-lion colonies. There is an optional tour to see the Southern Right Whales during the breeding season that runs from July to November. (B)

Day 6 – Transfer to airport for flight to Ushuaia, Argentina’s southern-most city that sits on the shores of the Beagle Channel. Accommodation for two nights. Afternoon city tour that includes a visit to the End of the World Museum. (B)

Day 7 – Morning tour to the Lapataia and Tierra del Fuego National Parks to see the waterfalls on the River Pipo, Lake Roca, Ensenada Bay and the Green and Black Lagoons. Afternoon catamaran cruise on the Beagle Channel for breathtaking views of the Olivia and Escapardo mountains, sailing past the historical Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse at the ‘End of the World’; on the way back you pass the sea-lions and Birds’ Island, home to many species, including imperial and Magellanic Cormorants, albatross, giant petrels and skuas. (B)

Day 8 - Flight to El Calafate, for a stay of three nights. Remainder of day at leisure. (B)

Day 9 – Full-day excursion to Upsala, South America’s largest glacier, and then on to the Onelli Glacier with its peaceful and beautiful lagoon that is dotted with blue-white icebergs of all shapes and sizes. Spectacular views and an opportunity to enjoy gentle walks through the fairy-tale forest. (B)

Day 10 – A highlight of the tour is today’s full-day trip to the world’s most beautiful glacier, Perito Moreno, where blocks of ice crash down with a thunderous roar from its immense frontage to form new icebergs. (B)

Day 11 – Transfer to airport for return flight to Buenos Aires where on arrival you will be taken your hotel. Evening at leisure. (B)

Day 12 – Free to relax before transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. (B)

Day 13 – Arrival in the UK.
