Guatemala in a Nutshell - Fixed Departure Tour

Day 1 – Flight from UK to Guatemala City. Upon arrival transfer to Antigua. Overnight stay at hotel of your choice.

Day 2 – Full day tour: Morning departure for the fabulous Chichi Market with time for shopping for handicrafts Opportunity to see Maya rituals being performed in the Catholic Church before continuing to Lake Atitlan for a two night stay (B,L)

Day 3 – Morning scenic boat ride across Lake Atitlan to the village of San Juan La Laguna with its textile cooperative, medicinal plant centre and local naif painters’ workshops. Continue to Santiago for lunch. Village tour including the Maya God Maximon and introduction to textiles, spiritualism and beliefs of the T’zutujil Maya. Return to hotel. (B,L)

Day 4 – Full Day tour to the colorful authentic market at Solola Lunch in a traditional restaurant en route back to Antigua. Short visit to the small Maya archaeological site at Iximche. Overnight in Antigua (B,L)

Day 5 – Half day walking tour of Antigua. Including the main square, Palace, Cathedral, La Merced Church & San Francisco Church. Afternoon at leisure. (B)

Day 6 – Transfer to Guatemala City and morning flight Flores. On arrival transfer to hotel. After lunch guests transfer to Yaxha National Park to explore this atmospheric lakeside site ending with refreshments & wonderful views at sunset over the rainforest canopy from atop the main temples. (B)

Day 7 – Tour to the amazing UNESCO protected Mayan Temple site of Tikal where huge Mayan temples rise above the jungle canopy and monkeys and tropical birds are abundant in the surrounding rainforest. Transfer back to Flores airport and fly to Guatemala City. Transfer to hotel for overnight in Guatemala City. (B.L)

Day 8 – Transfer to airport for flight to UK. (B)

Day 9 – Arrival in the UK.

4 Day Belize Beach Extension from Flores Area

Why not extend your holiday to include a stay on Ambergris Caye Island off the coast of Belize with its white sand beaches that run parallel to the barrier reef? This is a great base from where to go on diving, snorkelling or sailing trips and to go fishing. Hotels are based along the shoreline either close to the main town of San Pedro or more remotely up into the northern end of the island – only really accessible by boat.

Day 7 – Stay another night in Flores area (B)

Day 8 – Fly to Belize & to Ambergris Caye. Free afternoon. (B)

Day 9 – Free day at the beach (B) – Extra days at the beach may be added as required!

Day 10 – Fly to Belize International for international flight out (B)

Day 11 – Arrival in the UK
