Day 1 – Depart the UK for your flight to Buenos Aires.

Day 2 – Morning arrival in the capital of Argentina, where you will stay for two nights. Rest of day at leisure.

Day 3 – This morning’s tour will take you through the city’s wide elegant avenues and past attractions that include the artists’ quarter of La Boca, the Colon Opera House, the Recoletta and the Palermo parks, and the Casa Rosada, the pink Presidential Palace that was the site for Eva Peron’s impassioned speeches to ‘her’ people. Afternoon at leisure. (B)

Day 4 – Morning flight to Trelew. On arrival you will be met and transferred to Puerto Madryn, for a two-night stay. Afternoon excursion to Punta Tombo to see the nesting ground for the largest collection of Magellanic Penguins outside of the Antarctic. (B)

Day 5 – Full-day tour to the nature reserve of the Valdes Peninsula with its rich variety of wildlife that includes large, grunting elephant seals and playful sea-lion colonies. There is an optional tour to see the Southern Right Whales during the breeding season that runs from July to November.

Day 6 – Transfer to airport for the flight to Ushuaia, Argentina’s southern-most city that sits on the shores of the Beagle Channel. Accommodation for two nights. Afternoon city tour that includes a visit to the End of the World Museum. (B)

Day 7 –
Morning tour to the Lapataia and Tierra del Fuego National Parks to see the waterfalls on the River Pipo, Lake Roca, Ensenada Bay and the Green and Black Lagoons. Afternoon catamaran cruise on the Beagle Channel for breathtaking views of the Olivia and Escapardo mountains, sailing past the historical Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse at the ‘end of the world’; on the way back you pass the sea-lions and Birds’ Island, home to many species of birds. (B)

Day 8 –
Flight to El Calafate, where you will stay for three nights. (B)

Day 9 – Full-day excursion to Upsala, South America’s largest glacier, and then on to the Onelli Glacier with its peaceful and beautiful lagoon that is dotted with blue-white icebergs of all shapes and sizes. Spectacular views and an opportunity to enjoy gentle walks through the fairy-tale forest. (B)

Day 10 – A highlight of the tour is today’s full-day trip to the world’s most beautiful glacier, Perito Moreno, where blocks of ice crash down with a thunderous roar from its immense frontage to form new icebergs. (B)

Day 11 –
Early departure from the coach terminal for the scheduled service to Puerto Natales. Overnight. (B)

Day 12 – Full-day excursion to the Torres del Paine National Park, part of the United Nations’ World Biosphere Reserve System. Visit the Milodón Cave, a huge cavern near Puerto Natales where the remains of a giant prehistoric sloth were found. Hike among the lakes, rivers and waterfalls in the shadow of the Park’s most breathtaking image, the giant granite pillars known as the ‘Towers’. Check in at Hostería Las Torres (simple accommodation) for an overnight stay inside the Park.

Day 13 – At leisure to explore the Park, taking optional excursions locally. (B).

Day 14 – Morning at leisure to enjoy the park further. Afternoon transfer to the bus terminal in Puerto Natales for the journey to Punta Arenas for an overnight stay. (B)

Day 15 – Departure to the airport and flight to Puerto Montt in the Chilean Lake District. Two-night stay in Puerto Varas on Lake Llanquihue. Afternoon free. (B)

Day 16 – Day to relax, or to enjoy an optional tour. (B)

Day 17 – Flight to Santiago and transfer to your hotel, for two nights. Tour of Santiago including the Presidential Palace of La Moneda, the Plaza de la Constitucion, the traditional Plaza de Armas, with the imposing Cathedral and the central market where you will see an extensive display of flowers, fruit, seafood etc. Enjoy the spectacular views of the city from the beautiful gardens of the Santa Lucia hill. (B)

Day 18 – At leisure to relax and explore. (B)

Day 19 – Morning at leisure. Afternoon departure to the airport for the return flight to the UK or continue on with an extension tour. (B)

Day 20 – Afternoon arrival in the UK.
