Day 1 – Evening departure from the UK to Buenos Aires.
Day 2 – Arrival in Buenos Aires and transfer to the hotel for a two-night stay. Remainder of the day at leisure.
Day 3 – Morning sightseeing tour of the elegant city of Buenos Aires, introducing the beautiful parks and gardens of Palermo, the old quarters of San Telmo, historical Government House, Congress, and elegant residential areas. Afternoon free. Optional excursions available. (B)
Day 4 – Morning transfer to Buenos Aires airport for the two hour flight to San Carlos de Bariloche. Two nights accommodation. (B)
Day 5 – Day at leisure for optional tours in the Lake District of Argentina, enjoying the magnificent colours in the scenic area of lakes and mountains. (B)
Day 6 – Morning departure for the journey by road and lake through stunning Andean scenery to Chile, via Lake Nahuel Huapi across the Chilean border to Peulla. Lunch and overnight at Hotel Peulla. (B, L)
Day 7 – Continue across Lake Todos Los Santos, in one of the world’s most beautiful settings, to Petrohue, Ensanada and the attractive resort of Puerto Varas on Lake Llanquihue for a two-night stay. (B)
Day 8 – At leisure for optional tours in this scenic region. (B)
Day 9 – Morning transfer to Puerto Montt airport for the flight to Santiago, Chile’s capital, for a three-night stay. (B)
Day 10 – Morning sightseeing tour of Santiago including the Presidential Palace of La Moneda, the Plaza de la Constitucion, the traditional Plaza de Armas, with the imposing Cathedral and the central market where you will see an extensive display of flowers, fruit, seafood etc. Enjoy the spectacular views of the city from the beautiful gardens of the Santa Lucia hill. Afternoon free for an optional tour. (B)
Day 11 – Full-day excursion to the Pacific coast to the picturesque and important port of Valparaiso and then on to the international resort of Vina del Mar, renowned for its fine climate, casino and immaculately kept public gardens. (B)
Day 12 – Morning departure by road for the spectacular journey over the Andes, with a chance to see the highest peak of the Americas, Mount Aconcagua, across the border in Argentina. Travel by the regular, comfortable coach service. Early afternoon arrival in the town of Mendoza, a centre for the arts and the home of many of the great Argentinian wines. Accommodation for two nights. (B)
Day 13 – At leisure to explore Mendoza. (B)
Day 14 – Departure from Mendoza airport for the flight to Puerto Iguazu, via Buenos Aires. Afternoon visit to the falls, followed by transfer across the border into Brazil. (B)
Day 15 – Morning visit to the Brazilian side of the falls to enjoy the fantastic panoramic views. Late afternoon flight to Rio de Janeiro, the capital of Samba set in stunning surroundings. Two-night stay in the hotel of your choice. (B)
Day 16 – Full day tour including the beaches and two of Rio’s iconic mountain attractions, Corcovado with its statue of Christ the Redeemer and the Sugar Loaf, reached by cog railway and cable car respectively, to enjoy stunning views over the city, its bays, the Atlantic Ocean and the unique mountain backcloth. Day 17 – Day at leisure with evening departure to the airport for the return flight to the UK. (B)
