Multi Country

Guatemala is a unique country with attractive countryside, colonial towns and a people of vibrant character and soul. Situated right in the centre of the American continents, Guatemala is important both for commerce and tourism.

A little larger than Portugal, Guatemala is made up of twenty-two departments and is home to twelve million people made up of twenty-two Maya ethnic groups, Ladinos and Garifunas. Spanish is the official language although twenty-three other languages are spoken.

Guatemala is known as The Land of Eternal Spring as generally temperatures are mild and vary little during the year. In the highlands, however, the temperatures can be colder at night. During the rainy season (May to September) the days can be chilly. During the dry season (October to end of April) the days are warm and delightful. Guatemala´s rainforest areas are tropical and therefore rainy, hot and humid. December and January are the coolest months while April and May are the hottest months. In the rainy season not all areas are affected and in general it is dry in the mornings and in the afternoon it will rain for about two hours and later the sun will shine again.

Guatemala is a country of contrasts, natural and cultural treasures, warm and friendly people and many tourist attractions. Whether you are interested in the Mayas, indigenous cultures, wildlife, eco-adventure or adventure sports this is a perfect holiday destination.
